Yellow Mount was APHA’s first Champion Paint Horse, and the Second Supreme Champion. He was 1966 National Champion Two-Year-Old Stallion, Reserve National Champion Jr. Western Pleasure Horse. In 1697 he was the National Champion Three-Yr-Old Stallion. In 1969 he was the National Champion Sr. Roping Horse. In 1971 he was Reserve National Champion Get of Sire (tied). In 1972 he was National Champion Get of Sire (no ties there!), in 73 he was Reserve, and in 1974, back on top with National Champion Get of sire (again, no ties). He was the sire of 219 foals, approximately 50% went on to show and show well. He is the sire of three Supreme Champions, Bar Mount, Yellow Mounts Pride followed immediately by Red Mount.
Yellow Mount was also the horse used for the popular Breyer Paint Horse model.
